| Name: | Lucas Adrian Krauss | |||||||||
| Bio: | Name: Lucas Adrian Krauss Age/DOB: 29; February 9th, 1979 Gender: Male Sexuality: Homosexual Physical Description: Lucas is cute in an absentminded professor, geeky sort of way. He's a little short for a man, standing at only 5'7", and his build is much sturdier than your average geek, though this isn't from any effort on his part. His incredible metabolism keeps him from betting pudgy despite all the junk he eats; when that goes, he'll be doomed. He has dark brown curly hair that he wears on the long side to keep it from sticking up everywhere. He dresses mostly in semi-casual clothes, and always in dark colours; with his olive skin tone, it looks the best. He has a friendly, open face, and he's always expressive; hiding what he's thinking is not an option. You can always tell when he's had a late night working on his projects, because he'll often forget to shave after an allnighter, and go around sporting a stubble all day. Personality: Lucas is what could kindly be called eccentric. He's a nice enough person, friendly in his own way, but quite frankly, he lacks most necessary social graces. He has a mad-scientist sort of personality: he latches onto something and just does not let go, no matter what. He's the sort of teacher you can easily derail from the subject he's supposed to be teaching by introducing his favorite topic. He'll go off on tangents, and needs reminders to go back on. However, since most of his tangents do involve his subject in some way, whether German literature, language, or history, his students are still technically learning. Students are likely to describe him as weird but cool. If you have a genuine interest in his classes, he'll find it hard to fail you no matter how bad you are. People who don't try, or seem to think they'll slide by do have a tendency to fail his classes, though. Since German's an elective, most tend to drop before they get to this point. His favorite students are those who get relatively excited about something German, though it'd be hard to match his fervor. As mentioned, he tends to lack social graces. He's in control enough around his students, besides the veering off-topic tendency. It's with his peers he has trouble. He doesn't understand that some people like to leave work behind; to him, his work is his life. His pet projects involve history and genealogy, translations, and all sorts of boring things. Lucas is a bonafide geek, and has no trouble admitting this. He's generally knowledgeable about science and math, but history and language are his primary focus. Mention anything pop culture and he won't have a clue what you're talking about. Dating is a closed book to him; he doesn't have time for any of that, according to him. He'll eventually turn into one of those mad academics, sitting around arguing obscure points of psychology at the dinner table with other old, mad academics. History: Lucas was born in Toledo, Ohio, the only child of Richard and Penelope Krauss. Toledo's not precisely the most exciting city in the world, but he had a pleasant enough childhood. He tended to be indulged by his parents, since it wasn't recommended for Penelope to have any more more children. He was a curious kid, and very early showed all the signs of becoming a geek. He never cared much for sports or even playing outdoors, though he could occasionally be tempted into studying some insects. He did prize the usual indoor activities: comic books and his Atari, but he also read any books he could get his hands on, watched documentaries as well as cartoons, and tore through kids' learning programs. In middle school, his mother became interested in genealogy and enlisted his help. Heavily bribed, he began helping out with the research, and became interested in his family background despite himself. His German descent led him to look through German history, and become interested in the country in general. He spent most of his adolescence as a teacher's pet, his few friends of the same persuasion as he was. He got a scholarship to Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, and graduated with a bachelor's in German Studies, with a minor in Education in 2002. He spent some time working in a business office while preparing his resume and sending it out. He finally got an interview for Goldfinch Academy. Sexuality had never played much of a role in his life; girls had avoided him during his adolescence and young adulthood, and he'd never really thought about the fact that he didn't pay any attention to girls on his own. The fact that it was a Pride Academy didn't figure into his calculations. He landed the job and started in the fall of 2005, living on-campus with the students.
